Hands free kits; after enjoying blue and me in the 159 has anybody gone down a hands free route in the 916?

Re: Hands free head unit

Yes I have an older Nokia unit with Bluetooth in the 916. Its miles better than the blue and me in the Abarth. However, as the GTV is still parked in the garage the house phone is a better option for now ;0)

I find the B&M a hit or a miss with the HTC sometimes it pairs fine sometimes it just refuses to talk to the phone. Also incoming calls always seem to go to the phone speaker and not the car speakers which is a pain in the rear. The Nokia on the other hand always paired first time and and worked without fault with all calls.

Re: Hands free head unit

I see. maybe a phone rather than B&M issue perhaps. My Samsung seems to pair ok although there was one time where it unpaired itself after a phone reboot and I had to retrieve the manual as I had forgotten how to pair them. My ony gripe is that I can't select names from the address book on the dash display whilst moving - only recently called numbers. I could voice call the names but as I have loads of business contacts on my phone I have to be confident that I'm phoning the right person!
The Nokia I had before wasn't good at keeping the pair.

Having used Blue and Me in the Giulietta for the last wee while, I was a bit lost without it this weekend when I drove the Spider! I'd completely forgotten to take my hands free with me

Re: Hands free head unit

I just use earphones with a button to operate the voice access and say (in the poshest voice I can muster) the name of who I want to call.

I then spend the next few minutes saying, NO....call x, NO.....call x.....
