Re: Few pics

Cheers guys.
When I was polishing the rear quarters they were crunching under pressure, some nasty rusty stuff going on under there.
May have to make a difficult decision soon.

Re: Few pics

Yeah yeah yeah!

Gonna need more than just a bit of welding as both quarters have gone and probably the inner skins, then paint.
May not be worth it but will get quotes in.

Ps Are new rear panels available from anywhere?

I don't know, to be honest. I would imagine you'd get at least copies from the panel factors. Watch the fit though - they can be hellish.

Re: Few pics

IMO you would do better to have the rusty bits cut out replaced with new metal and then paint just the rear quarters. It worked for my GTV as you saw at NAD and will probably be cheaper than new panels that if they are not original will need fettling to fit properly.

Its old but its fast

That's the plan Peppka. The outer wings could be easily patched this way as there's only small bubbling, however the inner wings have become debonded around the wheel arch due to wet mud trapped behind the arch, the inners have rotted and the tricky bit would be mending the inners without destroying the outers gaining the access. Must get the rear liner off and have a looky.
